The first public meeting occurred this past Wednesday at "the storefront" in the state building. Armed with our cameras and sketchbooks we examined the city of Syracuse on foot. After surveying the suggested path of the Connective Corridor, the student group taking on site research narrowed their focus. Take a look at a couple of sites we are considering.
FILLING THE WIDE SIDEWALK: Salina and Jefferson
+++ heavy foot traffic, lots of people walking there at night, a common entrance into Armory
--- bus concerns, sidewalk space
FIRST ON THE CREEK WALK: Armory Square
+++ ADA accessible, a "blip" or nature, already an area encouragement
--- concerns about who's in charge, too close to the warehouse
PLAYING IN SKYWALK CITY: Salina and Jefferson
+++ iconic already, lots of foot traffic
--- not sure if the space is public property, spacial issues, possible construction zone
